Landing Zone Alpha in the Gray Lands was of vital importance. Oh I now it just looks like a generator and a bit of pipe, but the Panhuman Concord knows far better than you. Due to the dull and drab surroundings all 4 C3 units were wearing gray uniforms, little did they know that their nefarious opponents would do the same.

The initial employment saw Strike Squad Alpha, under the leadership of Strike Leader Wulf Alphus and Srike Squad Beta, ably lead by Strike Leader Machs Beta arrive at the position. their only opponents a single Ghar Battle Squad. Alphus charged his squad forward toward the generator and poured fire on the hapless Ghar. Beta assembled his squad and just fired on the opponents. My the time the dust cleared the ghar were badly pinned of one battle suit was destroyed. The Ghar would have attempted to return fire but their disruptor weapons betrayed them and the groveled in the dirt where they belonged

Reinforcements soon arrived. The mighty C3 forces were supplemented by Strike squad Gamma, lead by the slightly green Strike Leader Boose Gamma and by Strike Force delta commanded by Strike Leader Torne Deltoid who had just returned from injury. the out gunned Ghar were joined by an Assault squad. Gamma moved toward the generator opening fire on the Battle squad. While not as effective as the other two squads previously they did make the squad cringe more and more. The beleaguered battle squad attempted to shoot Strike Squad Alpha, but so shattered was their nerve that none of the shots went close. The Assault Squad then was about to act when , like it’s ally, it suffered the perils of being associated with disruptor weaponry. Strike squads Alpha and Beta were fortunate enough to still be able to fire on the battle squad and did so with gusto, both remaining Ghar met their fate. Strike Squad delta moved up towards the broken pipe.

With half his army gone Commander Ghazoid was filled with trepidation. the next round of combat saw his forces yet again disrupted, Squad Alpha advancing and firing, Squad Beta firing , Squad Gamma moving around the far side of the generator and squad Delta setting an ambush. This time though the mighty Ghar armour held firm and although being down and badly pinned, no Ghar casualties were suffered.

In what would be the final round, Strike leader Boose Gamma’s squad managed to open fire on the Ghar inflicting one kill (This was later contested by squad Alpha that it was their kill….. Commander Vespasian can’t really recall and his notes at this stage were pretty shocking) Squad Beta lay in ambush and Squad Delta was forced down by the unnatural nature of the Ghar weaponry. The assault squad fired and killed two members of Squad Beta who were arguing about the best way to set up an ambush. Squad alpha fired and somewhere in the whole procedure the remaining Ghar decided they had had enough and bravely turned and fled.

Gharzoid escaped though, in many previous occasions in many different worlds, he and Vespasian had fought before. Vespasian knew he would meet his foe again and he would learn from this and be better.

forces have broken out of the box-like containment field …and are hastily being stuck together…but still grey!

    Some Responses:
    @ Flux Flos …..(looks embarrassed..) It’ll get bigger……..(lip quivers) …..
I could try feeding you a line about how the Panhuman Concord is so on top of this trans-mat business that troops were deposited right on the objective but in reality my
opponent was playing his first game , I only have two games under my belt and we were pushed for time….. sorry

@ Zeppomarzimus Thank you. =) When you are playing with hastily stuck together models and no paint you have to try and make the reading entertaining at least . So thanks it makes my
demented ramblings all worth while. And break your force out of the box-like containment field …. they’ll love it and so will you

@ Cazboab Thanks yes we do and we can only improve , cheers

@ Tvayumat Yes but in this case the gray uniforms had great camo value …… Yeah I know … sad … my forces should at least be undercoated next time.
The terrain that was there was deadzone terrain, I am making up a bit more of it but in less the 24 hours to the next battle (s) and work (a pox on work) it’ll be a stretch
I have a few of the deadzone mats and will have at least two out next time.

@cerealkiller195 It is great value , the starter box ! I also have Concord Comand Combined Starter Army box (largely not assembled sadly) and it is magic value as well. If my friend and
opponent would spring for more troops we could have bigger games ………which brings me to

@Gahrzoid Tomorrow night is a date. You are going down again =) . Tell Gwen not to hurry home from her party … she doesn’t need to see the tragic wreak of man that you’ll be =P

  • Gharzoid says:

Thanks mate, I had nightmares about that little black dice. Gwen is going out to a work do tomorrow night so if it’s okay with you, I’ll come over for a rematch or two. We could try the other mission from the episode as well, see if that helps me at all. I’ll bring the beer this time.

Nice report, see that we have new people also starting out now i won’t feel so bad. I am currently awaiting my starter box anxiously! cheers!

  • Tvayumat says:

Uh huh, Gray uniforms. We’ve all heard that one 😉

We’ve found that more tall, blocking terrain works great In GoA, but nice use of a Dead zone mat.

    Their buildings are also great!

    Everyone has to start somewhere…

  • Zeppomarzimus says:

Entertaining report. My forces have identical grey camouflage (and are still confined to a box-like containment field).

  • Flux Flos says:

Now that is a small battlefield.
