Battle for Xilos

This game was, a little funny. With lists being thrown together rapidly, I managed to pay the points for a full squad of Ferals that I simply *forgot* to actually use. Obviously, the pressing needs of the Varda called them elsewhere, presumably occupied carrying the many spoils of the war for Xilos to the newly secured Transmat gate.

The Varda Ipsimus patrol, undermanned and unprepared, was just as shocked as the Algoryn to suddenly find themselves face to face with the enemy, and what ensued was a quick and brutal firefight.

With both forces attempting to escape off the opposite board edge, Domari and AI squads traded pins for six turns while Vardanari and two Mag Light Support teams gradually encroached on an Algoryn X-Launcher team that continuously spat out explosive rounds, slowly grinding the Freeborn forces nearly to the breaking point.

Ultimately, both sides got within striking distance of the board edge, but neither succeeded in actually getting there.
