From the start, lets make it clear the battle report titles are being made up by my opponent, he expresses himself {read : speaks cr@p} a lot better than I do
My first game ever in this system. My battle squad is facing off against two of his squads. I reach into the dice bag and pull out one of his. he advances up the field and in the most disgusting display of lucky dice rolling shoots the hell out of me. his second squad does the same . I am one man down and pinned and then I pull out the distort die. I made the mistake of swearing at it as it haunted me for the rest of the night.
Turn2: I add my assault squad to the game, Vesp adds 2 more squads. Of course he shoots first and again adds some more pins. I return fire and with my bad rolling and all the pin modifiers couldn’t hit the side of a barn. two more of his squads shoot me up as all he seems to do is roll Advance or Fire, the battle squad dies horribly. I draw my friend the distort dice from the bag and sure enough my last dice follows it out. Vesp starts chuckling ….. the dog. His last unit gets a Run. Hooray!
Turn3: I only get shot at twice and he cowardly doesn’t want to move into melee range. My Ghar armour is saving the day, no one dies aaaaand I draw the distort dice again. You know when the dice gods are cursing you when your opponent starts offering sympathy.
Turn 4: More shooting from this uninjured squads and more death. I am down to two models. I get to shoot and I hit killing two of his smug little troopers. Is it too little too late?? Yes as even though he scores the distort dice. the remaining fire power causes my brave lads to high tail it off the table.
Loved the game though , have some ideas for how to get Mr Vespasian from Concord next time. Watch out mate.
Nice write-up
Good brief description of the action. Shame no picys.
Gotta love that distort die. I got hit with 3 of them last night! 🙂
Experience does help…though I have none
Welcome to GoA!
After a few games those battlesuits will know all the tricks, and start knocking those c3 dogs down a peg or two.
Great battle report! Some pictures would be great but solid reporting! Keep it up! Looking forward to to reading more soon.
cr@p???? me ???? Surely not. You’re luck with the dice did stink though, (For a change, I might add)
