It was almost dawn on Xilos, daylight was starting to filter through the early morning mists. The transmat relay hummed to itself in the still morning air, a low sound that bordered on the subsonic, and every one of the C3 strike troopers assigned to defend it could feel the hum resonate through their body.
The dawns light was greeted by the sound of scuttling feet approaching from the south, the morning mist rapidly burning off now to reveal a small detachment of Lavamites being driven toward the transmat relay by their brutish master, a huge Boromite with a lantern jaw and booming voice, using an electro-lash. Even though the C3 sentries had been on duty for the whole night they leapt into action straight away, opening up with their plasma carbines and through a combination of skill and good fortune stopped the lavamites dead in their tracks, quite literally.
More Boromite reinforcements entered the fray but the Concord troopers managed to hold the Transmat Relay despite taking horrendous casualties from Boromite Vorpal charges.
Well done
Yep I realise that Karyle, I started writing it Sunday evening with the battle fresh in my mind, but with work and family etc It was Thursday before I got back to it and couldn’t remember what happened in the game. oops!
Felt like a big build-up without the payoff. Pics would have helped certainly, but the writing chops are there… just need to take them further!
Thanks, Wish I’d have taken photo’s now. I didn’t think about it until it was too late. Next time I will! 😀
Short report, but it relays the story.
Good short but sweet report. Pictures would be nice as well though, even if it is just a picture of the battlefield.
