Battle for Xilos

Teliack looked on from his visor and saw the field before him. Amongst the dense jungle terrain, in a far off clearing, was the target he and his men had been pursuing for a weeks. After the disastrous events at the generator station, Teliack looked on with nervous anticipation and an almost uncontrollable bloodlust urging him to run out into the field and begin ripping the Concords Forces limb from limb. He could still smell the corpses of death all around him as he remembered his units defeat on that miserable rock of the generator station. But today was a new day and a weeks’ worth of hard work was about to pay off. As he switched on his visor again and looked onto the field he began taking stock of what was to become of the battlefield. As the adrenalin raced through his body with resolve he began relaying coordinates to his squads who lay in the dense grass and flowered fields of Xilos. Out in the distance was the beginning constructs of the panhuman transmat station that was being built in a clearing amongst the dense vegetation. Looking at his relay he began sending orders to his units to move in. The plan was to overwhelm the Concords forces and destroy the transmat station before more enemy troops and resources could be sent down to the planet’s surface. With quick precision his men quietly got into position while surrounding the compound. At his command a light mag gun emplacement opened up on the Concord with deadly vengeance spitting forth at the unaware units. Even though the concord had set up kinetic barriers, the Boromites of clan Grantell erupted from the dense fauna and began firing at the compound as they charged and closed ranks with the enemy. A unit of support drones was instantly destroyed as two groups of Work Gangs shot them to pieces while advancing on the compound. Gang fighters rushed the kinetic barrier as they closed with concord troops. One by one the concords troops began to fall in a hail of fire, there kinetic barriers providing little defense. Teliack and his unit released vorpal charges upon reaching the kinetic barrier destroying a unit of the concord forces in an instant. The Concord forces quickly surrendered as no alternative presented itself. Teliack had redeemed himself and began ordering the placing of charges meant to destroy the remnants of the station. Victory had finally come to him.
