Battle for Xilos

Although the Ghar awaited our landing to destroy the generator station the offensive started not bad. Our forces put the Ghar immediately under pressure. The mag cannon team smashed the Ghar battle squad with a jammy shot and destroyed the leader.
Subsequent to it, a Ghar outcast squad had luck, too. The squad killed the leader of our surged ahead AI infiltration team which had taken cover. By good fortune the disrupter canon shot missed the team.

Unimpressed of the casualties, the Ghar battle squad returned fire. But all shots misses the mag cannon team. One of our AI squads runned forward to take cover. The Ghar outcasts pursued the infiltration team, killed two more member and wiped out the rest of the squad which got panicky.

The battle could be better.

The mag cannon fired and killed a second one of the Ghar battle squad. The last one didn’t want to surrender and struggled on.
The AI command team wanted to support the mag cannon team. For this the command team had to cross difficult terrain. The team had many problems and had to stop the forward march.
The AI squad lost one more member and went “down”. But they got back in shape very fast.
Fortunately the Ghar battle squad lost his plasma enhancer.

Afterwars the Ghar got support. An assault squad joined the battle. Due to the plasma enhancer the squad suppressed the AI squad which was going “down” and killed one member from the mag cannon team. That’s why we couldn’t use the cannon anymore from this moment. It was a lucky shot.

The further progression didn’t become better. The AI command squad couldn’t damage the Ghar assault squad. The assault squad suspressed again the AI squad. The outcasts shot at the AI squad, but all gunfires missed. The disrupter cannon nearly hit the assault squad. This would have been wonderful.

But then a Ghar close combat decided the battle. The assault squad rushed into the AI squad and killed them all. Our command squad had to retreat from them to evade a close combat.

A second AI squad which had joined the battle earlier was too far away.

The Ghar had the superiority. We retreated. The high command rated the battle as a failure.
