The Boromites tried to eliminate the transmat before the Algoryn could start beaming down troops, but they were to late. The Boromites siezed the initiative and surprised the Infiltrators, but soon there were reinforcements arriving from the transmat. While they did well at first, the Boromites were soon feeling the firepower from the Algoryn and their attack began to stall. The rock brood was the Boromites Ace, but they were shot up taking out one shot up squad. They made an attempt at a Mag gun, but were shot down as they charged in. The battle bogged down into the slugging match that the Boromites had hoped to avoid. Accurate fire from the X-Launcher and targeting assistance from the Micromites began to have effect, and the Algoryn began to crack. They held on longer than they should have, but they were lured away from the transmat to finish off a work gang member before he could trigger a Vorpal Charge. With the Transmat exposed, a squad of Fighters showed unusual agility for Boromites and charged out of cover to take possession of the transmat.
It was a great game, and was very close. I don’t recall any major game changers, but there were a lot of little events for both sides that made the game exciting and the outcome uncertain. It could have easily been a loss for my Boromites.
